Pharmicell gets approval for extending expiry date of ‘Cellgram’ from the Ministry of Food and Drung Safety, leading to a new turning point in overseas export

 

 

Pharmicell(005690, co-headed by Kim, Hyeon-Soo and Kim, Seong-Rae) stands at a new turning point in overseas stem cell therapy business.

 

Pharmicell announced on 25th that it has received approval for extending expiry date of ‘Cellgram-AMI’, the world’s first stem cell therapy.

 

Previously, expiry date for the therapy was 18 hours and the extension to 36 hours approved by the Ministry will bring benefits of treatment convenience to local consumers and medical tourists, and active exports.

 

“We have received inquiries about stem cell therapies from countries worldwide but the short eighteen hour expiry date had posed a big stumbling block for export,” said Pharmicell. 

 

“Since the extension gives local patients and medical tourists an easier access to the therapy in term of time and makes exports available worldwide, we expect the approval to serve as a big turning point in overseas business.” 

 

Stem cell therapy is only effective when administered to a patient within expiry date after mesenchymal stem cells are derived from the patient’s own bone marrow and cultured.
