Pharmicell proves its ability to perform optimal culture for stem cell cures

- The research is published on February issue of the journal of BBRC

- Maintaining stemness is outstanding

Pharmicell(005690, CEO Kim, Hyeon-Soo), the world’s first stem cell therapy developer, is receiving an attention as it published its study on stem cell culture method in an international journal.

The articles issued in Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications (BBRC) show that exceeding the time for stem cell culture brings the loss of stemness such as reproductive integrity and differentiation potency and that proves it is related to lack of growth factors secreted from stem cells. This also implies that if the culture is carried out by Pharmicell’s time rule, stemness can stay at the optimized level.

It is required to increase the number of stem cells by culturing and propagating stem cells in-vitro in order to use stem cells for treatment because of a small number of stem cells in human body, but generally, that significantly undermines reproductive integrity and differentiation potency.

“According to the review paper presented by an American researcher at US ISCT in late 2013, clinical research conducted by American stem cell therapy developer found that long culture period made stem cell therapy ineffective. Pharmicell grows stem cells within 4 weeks to keep them fresh in order to bring the greatest benefits to patients,” Kim, Hyeon-Soo, Pharmicell’s CEO.

He more added, “The article indicates through the scientific researches that stem cells under the same name do not necessarily bring the same effects from their final stem cell cures. Meanwhile, it proves the way of culture carried out by Pharmicell is best optimized.”
